Fam trip to Ayrshire

Ayrshire Golf Scotland welcomed it's first group fam trip of 2015 last week. With both Golf Tour Operators and Golf Media from Denmark, Switzerland, Germany and Holland coming to sample our warm hospitality and fantastic golf courses.

Day one saw them arriving at the 4 star Carlton Hotel in Prestwick where they would enjoy the comforts of this modern hotel for the next 4 days. Golf on day one was at The Irvine Golf Club where battle commenced in bright but breezy conditions. The course was in brilliant condition and was very popular among the fam trip attendees, a true hidden gem! Evening entertainment was at Elliots restaurant in Prestwick where our guest where treated to a 3 course golfers meal in the cool and modern comforts of this buzzworks holdings venue.

Day two and Dundonald Links was today's golf course of choice. Cold and breezy and playing long and tough, didn't put anyone off completing and enjoying their rounds at the host of this years Ladies Scottish Open. An afternoon of Whisky tasting at AD Rattrays Whisky Experience was the perfect way to warm up after a day on the Links. Dinner and a showround at The Gailes Hotel was well received that evening with many of our European guests enjoying some Ayrshire Produce on the menu.

Day Three and the sun was out and the wind was just a flicker and golf at Belleisle Park was today's test. A delightful 18 holes in beautiful parkland setting was needed and with the new one seater golf buggies on hand, a nice relaxed round was had. Couple of coffee's and Scone's later and it was time to head over just a short distance away to Robert Burns Cottage where the group was met by Tam o' Shanter and a piper who piped the group to their Haggis, Neeps and Tattie dinner. A toast to the Baird followed by a rendition of 'Auld Langs Syne' couldn't have been a better way to finish the day.

An early rise on the final day and Trump Turnberry's Ailsa course set the seen for Duel in the sun part two! Media and Operators where shown all the hole changes during their round and had the opportunity to stand on some of the new tee box positions to experience first hand the 'Golf Theater' that will be created on this famous iconic links course in Ayrshire.

Ayrshire & Arran have made some new friends and we are sure their clients will join us for golf and a lot more sooner rather than later.
