Golfing in Troon (part 4)

In the last of our series of 'Golfing in Troon' blogs we take a look at some of the great accommodation providers in the town and also places to eat and drink when visiting.

We tee off with one of the most iconic hotels in golf, the four star Marine Hotel.

The Marine Hotel sits adjacent to the 18th fairway at Royal Troon Golf Club and views from the rooms are quite spectacular overlooking the course, Firth of Clyde and of course the Isle of Arran.
The hotel has recently been taken over and plans are in place to invest and upgrade rooms and interiors to further enhance its already great reputation in the area.

The hotel also has spa and leisure facilities which is perfect after a long tough round on the links. Be sure to also book in for a meal at the restaurant, which offers a wide variety of locally sourced produce whilst taking in the views of the golf course just yards away.

The South Beach hotel is a lovely 3 star seaside hotel owned and run by a very good golfer!
The hotel is perfect for golf groups as they are walking distance to 4 of the courses in the town and a 5 minute walk away from bars and restaurants.
They also host Troon Live which plays some great live local music at weekends but be careful golfers as it has been known to miss your next days tee time due to the great fun had at the bar the previous night!
The hotel can also take care of your golf and have some great golf packages available.

The stunning Piersland House hotel is just a short 150 yard walk from Royal Troon Golf Club.
This 4 star hotel is set in tranquil leafy gardens and has 37 luxury and perfect appointed bedrooms including some great cottage suites and lodges.

The hotel is a grade A listed building and was built in 1899, it was originally built as the home fro Sir Alexander Walker, Grandson of Johnnie Walker, founder of the Scottish Whisky firm (best known for Red label and Black label whisky).
